The Ginger

Size & Fit Guide

The Ginger is designed with a close, polished fit through the top and waist, with stretch through the body and an easy, straight leg. Start with your usual size; if you're between sizes or prefer more room through the waist and hips, size up.

The Ginger measurements

Approximate finished-garment measurements. The Ginger is made from a stretch crepe, so the fabric has give when worn.

Choose your length

The Ginger comes in three inseam lengths, so you can find the one that works best for you.

Petite inseam A great starting point if you're 5'1" and under.
Regular inseam A great starting point if you're 5'2"–5'6".
Long inseam A great starting point if you're 5'7" and up.

Height is only a guide. Your ideal length will also depend on your proportions and how you like your pants to hit.

Torso length

Jumpsuits fit differently than separates, because one piece has to work from your shoulder all the way to your inseam. Two people with the same measurements can need different sizes depending on how they carry their torso.

If you're long through the body, or one-pieces tend to pull at your shoulders, size up. The stretch will handle the extra room through the waist and hip. If you're short through the body, stay with your usual size and consider Petite even if your height suggests Regular.

How The Ginger fits

  • Close through the shoulders and upper body
  • Defined at the waist
  • Stretch through the waist and hip for comfort
  • Straight, easy leg
  • Designed to move with you without losing its shape
  • Three inseam options for a more considered fit

Made from our substantial stretch crepe: 70% viscose, 27% nylon, 3% spandex.

A note on the zipper

The Ginger’s hidden zipper keeps the silhouette clean and polished. Because it passes through the waistband seam, you may feel a little resistance at that point. Don’t be afraid to give it a firm, steady pull. That bit of tension is normal with an invisible zipper.

Care

Machine wash cold, inside out and zipped. Lay flat to dry. That's the whole thing. No dry cleaner, no hand washing, no special detergent.

We chose this fabric partly for how it moves and partly because nobody has time to dry clean something they want to wear every week. A piece you have to plan around isn't a staple. It's an occasion.

Three small things that make it last: zip it before it goes in, so the teeth don't catch. Turn it inside out to protect the surface. Skip the dryer, because heat is what wears out the stretch.

Between sizes?

If you prefer a more fitted silhouette, choose your usual size. If you're between sizes, fuller through the hip, or simply like a little more ease, we recommend sizing up.
