The brooch has entered the chat
Grandmothers, queens, and the very committed vintage shopper had it right. A small, slightly unnecessary, deeply delightful thing is back.

This one makes me smile. Did you really think we were going to start having a strong POV on all things fashion and style, and not talk about this very fun trend taking over all our lives?
Something to know about me: I grew up loving jewelry. Truly, if I hadn’t fallen in love with the idea of the perfect black jumpsuit, the only other thing I ever considered starting was a jewelry line. Something that could be passed on from one generation to another. Something you could put on that made you feel unstoppable and beautiful, and bring a bit of whimsy to the day.
So the fact that brooches have now entered the chat makes me all sorts of happy.
As most of you know, brooches are often associated with grandmothers, queens, and the very committed vintage shopper.
But not anymore. We’d like to formally welcome them back.
Did you know that brooches actually started as practical objects? Ancient fibulae were used to fasten clothing together. That means, friends, that basically the brooch was the original safety pin before it became decorative jewelry.
So technically, this is less of a comeback and more of a very, very long-running styling habit. And I’m here for it.
Where to put one
- The lapel Pinned to an oversized blazer.
- The neckline At the neck of a simple black dress, or The Ginger.
- The denim On a jacket you’ve had forever.
- The shoulder On a sweater, slightly off-center.
- All of them Clustered together if subtlety is not on the agenda. And honestly, why be subtle? YOLO.
But the reason we love them is simple: a brooch can make the most familiar piece in your closet feel different. And you know we’re all about making fewer, better things last.
You don’t need a new outfit. Honestly, you don’t.
But a small, slightly unnecessary, deeply delightful thing? Yes, that we need. All of us. We need more of that.
So go on a little treasure hunt. Start with whatever is sitting in your mother’s jewelry box. Or maybe your grandmother’s. Because let’s be honest, the best ones probably already have a story.
And around here, we’re all about pairing classics with something that brings a story.
The stories are always the best bits.
